The Solar Eclipse 1st August 2008

We are luck to live in a period of time that we get to view not only one Transit of Venus but two. The first was on the 8th June 2004. From memory the transit lasted around 5 hours. I can remember being hunched up under a black (of all colours) blanket taking around 900 images. I seem to have mislaid the majority of them but I did find half a dozen and an animation of the whole transit.

The animation below make take a little time to load, but shows the whole 5 hours in a few seconds. The 30 frames where picked at roughly equal distances through the 5 hours.
